I have a Dell vostro 3400 with ubuntu 11.04, the figerprint was recognized with lsusb as:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 138a:0008 DigitalPersona, Inc after sudo update-usbids I got with lsusb: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 138a:0008 Validity Sensors, Inc.
