There's been no response for a while, and the problem doesn't seem to be
with the kernel anyway. Thus I'm changing the status to invalid.

@Cyrille, the problem isn't cdemu-daemon itself, it's the vhba module.
So you ought to run 'dpkg -S vhba.ko' and remove the identified package.
That may be the same package, and even if it's not it seems likely that
cdemud won't function without it.
Please report back here whether or not removing

Hello,
I'm facing the same issue, when running 'sudo dpkg --purge cdemu' -> No return
But when running 'dpkg -S cdemud' I'm getting the following list :
cdemu-daemon: /etc/dbus-1/system.d/cdemud-dbus.conf
cdemu-daemon: /usr/share/man/man8/cdemud.8.gz
cdemu-daemon: /usr/bin/cdemud
Does this mean
Sorry, afaict="as far as I can tell".
That module is from cdemu, and you have a process named cdemud, so
something to do with cdemu is still on your system and running. Maybe
try running 'sudo dpkg --purge cdemu' in a terminal?
If that doesn't work, try running 'dpkg -S cdemud' and/or 'dpkg -S
vh
cdemu was uninstalled by the upgrade process. I don't know about afaict.

The invalid memory access comes from the vhba module, which seems to be
associated with cdemu and afaict isn't supported in natty. Is this
something you installed yourself?
