These issues seem to be highly dependent on the driver used (and thus the scanner used). In the trace there is a warning about "device in use". Is hitting delete actually necessary? Does it work if you just cancel a scan in progress and then try to do another scan? ** Changed in: simple-scan

No I can't repeat it, although I have a different printer (Brother DCP- 130C). Given there is no crash file in /var/crash, can I ask you to run a backtrace on simple-scan and replicate the crash?
