It seems as though it is related to the ATI XOrg driver. When using the ATI driver my screen works well, but when I close the screen it logs out. I have been torubleshooting the problem and when I use the VESA driver it does not log me out, but i do have to hit Ctrl+Alt+F1 then Ctrl+Alt+F7 to get

I have a Dell c610 that does the exact same thing. gnome-power-control is set correctly. Did not happen in Dapper, but happens in Edgy. I was thinking Hal or ACPI too. As Edgy has a beta version of Xorg, that may be the reason as well. Regardless the software interprets the "close lid" incorre
