Xinerama is deprecated as of Gutsy, but in Feisty and earlier was
expected to work, so breakage on Edgy is a valid bug, however it is not
one we will be able to fix because support for these releases is mainly
reserved for security issues. However it's great to hear the original

Note that intel doesn't support xinerama anymore, so you'd need to use

Sorry for the silence.. It really seems to be a driver issue rather than
with the library. Could you try on 7.10 with "intel" driver instead of
"i810".

I ran into the same problem. Everything was working fine for me, until I
tried to change the screen resolution using the little System ->
Preferences -> Screen Resolution tool.
It seems that the gnome screen resolution setting interferes with the screen
resolutions defined in xorg.conf for the tw
I have exactly the same problem after upgrading the edgy, and this bug is still
present in feisty.
I have a Dell D620 laptop with 1440x900 resolution (using 915resolution
package).

Nope, I spoke too soon. For some reason X has a resolution 2px wider
than my laptop's primary display (1368*768), even though the only
resolution listed in xorg.conf is the correct 1366*768. If I change this
in System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution to 1366*768, the
resolutions of both screens
I never did a fresh install of Edgy (like dramage) but this appears to
be fixed in a fresh install of Feisty 20070415.

This past Thursday was the first presentation I needed to give from my laptop
since upgrading to Edgy. I played with my X settings a LOT in advance to make
sure everything would go smoothly. I never got xinerama working correctly, so
I opted to go for just having two screens instead of a xine
