Xinerama is deprecated as of Gutsy, but in Feisty and earlier was expected to work, so breakage on Edgy is a valid bug, however it is not one we will be able to fix because support for these releases is mainly reserved for security issues. However it's great to hear the original issue was resolved in Feisty, so I am closing this as fix released.
Regarding the followup bug in comment 8, that sounds like a modeline issue, which would be unrelated to the original reported problem. (We encourage sending separate bug reports for separate issues to simplify tracking.) Please test against Hardy and if the issue still exists, file a new bug with your /var/log/Xorg.0.log, /etc/X11/xorg.conf, the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and your monitor model ID. pacesie and pvdbrand, you've not provided enough evidence to say for certain but my guess is that you're seeing unrelated issues, even if the symptoms may seem similar.
