One thing that suddenly appears confusing - why is the package affected
wget and not flashplugin-installer or flashplugin-nonfree? but whatever
suits the developers i guess.. .

well here's why it makes no sense -
1. most normal users need flash e.g. youtube
2. in lucid they can comfortably set the global proxy as well as the synaptic
proxy.
3. so how do you expect that normal user to go edit /etc/wgetrc to make flash
work?
there is no error even thrown out during inst
Sorry, But if wget is needed to use a proxy, the user should set that
up.
