ok, yeah, i've spent quite a bit of time on those bugs, so things are
rather stable in debian. i don't have any control over which version
ubuntu ships with, so it looks like all of these issues are going to
remain in maverick.

We checked things on a debian unstable (run in virtualbox) directly, the
bug was NOT present. (Other problems I reported elsewhere: keys z and w,
slow rendering, and complete reload of the page during scrolling, are
also solved. The only strange thing was half a page of scrolling, rather
than one l
I'll see what I can do, but certainly will need a bit of time for that.

you'll need to install debian's poppler as well (ubuntu's poppler is the
cause of the segfault), and perhaps some of the other dependencies. or
you could test it on a debian unstable system directly. the problem
will likely not be seen with the upstream sources directly.

Thanks. It seems I need some help on that, I'm not an expert. I tried
various things on my Lucid from the xpdf download page:
- the Debian i386 binary xpdf 3.02-10 didn't start (segmentation fault)
- I tried "x86, Linux (staticly linked to Motif, t1lib, and FreeType):
xpdf-3.02pl4-linux.tar.gz",
ok, i think i understand what you're saying now. however, i can't
reproduce it with 3.02-10 on debian. it may have been a temporary issue
with 3.02-2. can you try a newer package? note 3.02-9 in maverick is
in bad shape, so you won't get anywhere with that.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. Resizing (key "h") and then doing the
search works well. But this is pretty uncomfortable every time I want
the next match of a word. Normally I would keep clicking at "Find" at a
larger zoom for subsequent matches. Now whenever a hit is below the
bottom of my screen, "
i'm a bit confused by your description. why can't you resize the window
so that it isn't off the screen? wouldn't that solve the problem?
i tried find, close find, then find again, and it continued where it
left off with 3.02-9.
