We checked things on a debian unstable (run in virtualbox) directly, the bug was NOT present. (Other problems I reported elsewhere: keys z and w, slow rendering, and complete reload of the page during scrolling, are also solved. The only strange thing was half a page of scrolling, rather than one line, for up- or downarrow.) Thanks for all your efforts!
