I followed the steps and has uninstalled/reinstalled the whole HPLIP.

Thanks for the suggestions but I already tried that and it didn't work,
at least nor for documents longer than a page.
If I wanted to print a 5 pages document, with the method you mentioned
above, I had to print one page at a time. I thought I should report the
problem with ubuntu as is "shipped"

I attached the Troubleshooting Wizard output from System ->
Administration -> Printing -> Help -> Troubleshoot.
I compared the output and is the file /var/log/cups/error_log with
additional information.

Can you run the following commands in a terminal window:
sudo /etc/init.d/cups stop
sudo rm /var/log/cups/*
sudo rm -rf /var/log/cups/tmp/*
sudo rm /var/cache/cups/*
sudo /etc/init.d/cups start
