The package downloads get verified for errors by using checksums. If
there really was a CRC error it happened due a local error. I will close
this bug as the reason seems to be impossible to track down anymore.
However please reopen it if you have the same happening again, and don't
hesitate to sub

No unfortunately not. I did a fresh installation. It was within a day or so
of the original bug report if that is any help.
