This is an issue with the GTK making it difficult to use FDO image name
fallbacks (there's a way, but it sucks) so I've filled this bug to try
and get the fix for that in Natty so that we can use it in indicator-
application. That's bug 704632.

Not an amarok bug. The icons in question are part of the freedesktop.org
icon theme, and all major icon themes have them. The problem here is
that the GNOME indicator app is only looking in the hicolor fallback
theme, instead of the user's selected icon theme. (The icons in question
are available i
I have also subscribed amarok so that the appropriate people will be aware of
the problem.

Perhaps this bug should be attached to the Amarok package itself rather
than the indicator applet? The fix involves tossing the missing Amarok
icons in /usr/share/kde4/apps/amarok/icons/hicolor/22x22/actions right?
That sounds like a job for the Amarok package, and not the indicator
applet to me..
I had the same problem with Maverick and succesfully used the workaround by

I definitely agree with the comment by gidantribal!!

yes !!!
I found a solution to this bug
The notification-applet don't find the specified icons into the correct folder.
I didn't find the icons anywhere in the computer therefore I downloaded the
corresponding files.
You may just extract the archive, which is in attachment into this folder

Ted, just FYI, it is both the media skip buttons (forwards and
backwards) as well as the "stop" button and the "play/pause" buttons.
Your d-bus instructions are a little confusing to me or else I would run
them myself for you, but perhaps if you install and run amarok you can
check it for yourself
I don't get what name and object dbus-dumper needs. if you may give me
some more details.

It is odd that the icons would be not found. Can you confirm which
icons Amarok is looking for? It seems to be media-
skip-{backwards|forwards} to me, but those are found in several icon
themes.
If you can use an application like d-feet you can get the dbus address
and path for the menu. Then y
That is a good point, I changed it to indicator-applet now mostly just
in hopes of generating some more steam in getting this fixed.
Hard to say whether it is indicator-applets fault for not finding the
icons, or Amarok/KDEs fault for always being so darn incompatible with
gnome. it makes me sad e
i think its more an indicator-applet bug. Cause all the icons are there.
The Applet just doesnt find them.

Hahahaha Guilty as charged, although I like to think I didn't just
start out as a dick, but was driven there. I promise to remain much more
calm now that this bug remains unmarked as a duplicate.
True it is a minor bug, and purely aesthetic, but a bug none the less.
Thank you Carl for agreein
gnomed, you are being a dick, but you are correct about this being a

The icons appearing as (/) the 'cant find image' image, is happening to

To be honest, I hadn't even noticed this minor bug in the annoyance of
