Well, what ever it was it's not present after a re-install. I'll close
this as invalid because I can't reproduce problem anymore.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Postfix could not deliver the message appearantly because there is a
firewall restriction stopping you from connecting to
fiordland.ubuntu.com on port tcp:25. Some ISP's will block that. It is
not a bug in postfix for that sake.
You can confirm
$ pwd
/var/spool/postfix/defer/5
$ ls -la
total 12
drwx-- 2 klogscanner 4096 2006-07-30 02:39 .
drwx-- 3 postfix root4096 2006-07-28 09:27 ..
