Postfix could not deliver the message appearantly because there is a firewall restriction stopping you from connecting to fiordland.ubuntu.com on port tcp:25. Some ISP's will block that. It is not a bug in postfix for that sake. You can confirm this by trying to connect to gmail-smtp- in.l.google.com:25. About the messages in syslog, there is something strange about your defer spool directory ownership settings.
