I have been affected by this bug since I upgraded to 10.04 64bit in May
2010.
The system crashes a couple of times a day. The crash seems to happen at
random times, regardless if it is used or not.
Symptoms: sudden, complete freeze
- screen freezes (the mouse cursor does not move, the keyboard cu
I also have been having system freezes since 10.04. Two types of symptoms ,
1. mouse hangs , does not seem to depend on any particular activity, only cure
is hard boot.
2. if sound is playing approx 2 seconds of sound is repeated continuously in
addition to mouse freeze. Only cure is hard boot.

I believe I am running into this same problem. Sporadically the
computer stops responding for around 2-3 seconds. I am running 10.04
amd64 on a Macbook 4,1.

What is the name of the actual package that the apport-collect utility is
trying to find?
According to the failure response back it appears to be looking for xorg-server
however that package isn't available from any repository that I have.

synaptic reinstalled these packages without any problem, so I tried to
