Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed
It worked during Live-CD but not after install. Despite drawing from the
CD's repo it couldn't install bcmwl-kernel-source, kept claiming it had
to get some dependencies from the internet. I think it was Patch it
couldn't get all the dependencies for. I reinstalled to see if it was
some corrupt ins
Thanks. Though for a Distro thats aiming to be user friendly having it
setup to where you have to do this instead of having it completely
available in the system is not New User friendly and is something that
helps hold Ubuntu back from being number one. Mandriva, PCLinuxOS, and
Fedora have no issu

I recommend you try installing the bcmwl-kernel-source package and/or
activating the b43/STA driver for your bcm4312 wireless adapter. The
drivers/firmware for these cards are part of the restricted component of
Ubuntu's software. They will not be incl

For me at least this is critical wireless is the only means of access to
the net i have. I'm borrowing a USB Adapter atm.
