packaging, which this bug is about. Unfortunately, it seems nobody has
started this yet.

I don't understand why there is no mplayer-vaapi in any ppa (despite the
one in the nvidia cutting edge ppa, which doesn't work for maverick
upwards...) :-(

There's an up-to-date version of VLC with VA-API in the Ubuntu 10.10
repositories. Is Mplayer less important? (Honestly, its support seems
less organized than VLC.)
