This is an error in the apport reporter. I have raised the issue within
the team in the past month as this prevents, in most cases, reporters from
providing the needed data to the bugs. I don't have a way to fix that right
now, but we are working on it.

Yes, this still a problem.
I installed the latest upstream kernel and it still doesn't resume
correctly.
The first time I tried it, the caps lock indicator was blinking
(kernel panic) and I couldn't even shut down the laptop by keeping the
power button pressed.
