Have had same:3 ubuntu 9.10 and 2 Windows 1 Windows 7 and 1 Windows Vista all networked and working properly. Upgraded to Lucid on 1 of the 9.10 and in that version when went into network saw Workgroup Icon when selected password and authentication window nothing from there. All other versi

Thanks for getting back to me. Here is some additional information: I'm using an upgraded Lucid install, trying to access the workgroup in the same machine at this stage. I had the same problem in (another) Karmic install, but fixed it by installing system-config-samba and re-setting the password
