I propose to close this bug. I still get an error message with my
original kubuntu installation, which is now at 10.04. I guess that in my
old installation something has gone wrong with the updates or with some
changes made by me. I am not an expert and could easily mess something
up. But with a ne

Getting this error when starting Akonadi :
Database process exited unexpectedly during initial connection!
executable: "/usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi"
arguments: ("--defaults-file=/home/julien/.local/share/akonadi//mysql.conf",
"--datadir=/home/julien/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/",
"--socket=/home/
Same issue there. Actually Akonadi complains it could not be registered
as a DBus process, but only on some of my computers running Lucid. This
does not seem to be linked to AppArmor, but well, I don't know...
My install was upgraded from Karmic on both machines.

That is most weird. I just tried and kres-migrator works properly with
the current apparmor profile (ignorig that mysql tries to access two
files that are completey useless to akonadi, for which it does not have
permission ... however I now whitelisted those files, just to be save).

Hi Harald
Thanks for your response.
My problem "only" was, as you mention below, that the kresmigrator did not
work, until I stopped apparmor.
When I wrote my first message, I did not understand what was going on. Just the
error message nerved me. Finally I did more searches on google and final
Hans, I really do not quite understand what test is specifically
failing, which makes it difficult to fix this. I understand that at
least kresource migrator refuses to do it's job unless you turn off
apparmor?
Vladimir, so turn on nepomuk ;)

Tried commands from #3 in this topic -- the "Akonady self-test" popup no
more appears. Thank you!
However, still get "Nepomuk Indexing Agents Have Been Disabled" popup..

I should have looked more severely to older problems with akonadi. Bug #365124
gives under msg #3 the following advice: "sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop".
When running kontact afterwards, I got the message that the migration was done
OK. To be sure, I ran the following commands, according to an
