Xorg moved away from needing one (usually). Create the file and add this
to it:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Driver "radeon"
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"

the minimum/default acceleration-method since jaunty.

I would like to confirm this bug. It also happens in openoffice for me.
Both for upgrade and clean installation of 9.10 openoffice is scambled
and notify-osd is not displaying any normal information. See attachment.
