Hibernation works for me, but suspend. Same result with sta ,
b43(b43-fwcutter) wireless driver.

Well all is as fixed as I can make it this morning. Downgraded to 9.04.
It's fantastic! Everything bloody works!!! Didn't realise how much I was

The only hardware options I think for the 1501 were the wifi card and
screen type/size. Screen should really not be an issue. As far as wifi
is concerned, I have the Broadcom BCM4311 and I'm using the B43 driver.

With latest updates and so forth, switching user is not an issue,
suspend/sleep (low power mode with RAM still powered) has no problems. I
believe that hibernate is ok for me. I will, when next the laptop is
free (the lady is powering through course work), try to work out exactly
how to course this
I guess that no-one is interested. Krappy Koala (as it is becoming known
in various places) certainly will not hibernate on my 1501. Yes I do my
updates.

I first started getting this bug when I upgraded to 9.10 but there must
have been an update somewhere along the lines that has sorted this out,
at least for me. Either that, or I simply have managed to dodge this bug
for a long time.

when i try to resume from suspend, the screen remains blank, so i have
to turn off the computer and restart it.
