Marking as invalid. With a recent update this issue seems to have been
resolved. There is now a short delay (around 10 secs) between
connecting/disconnecting the AC adaptor and the status changing in the
applet but it does now keep in sync with actual state.

Some additional notes:
- The desktop does the right thing in other places. Eg: my screen brightness
is adjusted properly when I connect and disconnect the AC
- The applet power level seems to update in the initial AC state after
booting. It seems to stop when the AC connection in connected/dis
