Ok, this thread pointed me at the "system->administration->additional drivers" menu link, but the Ubuntu 10.10 desktop manual still says to look for "system->administration->hardware drivers". The manual(s) needs updating... It would be good to see an actual "hardware driver manager" option made

Additional Drivers is, at least for me, the best name (for end-users and veterans).
