This bug is no longer relevant for me as I killed the motherboard - this
happened before Lucid.
The bug only occurred on that machine. May be of interest that the first
IDE was connected with the boot-HDD as master and a ROM-Drive as slave.
The PC was an Medion Titanim MD8083 XL with Motherboard
We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't
heard back from you in a while. Could you please provide the requested
information? Thanks!

When possible, never use the switch off button, risks of serious damage at Hard
Disk are concrete.
As this bug is not reproducible by me, can you tell me if it still afflicting
your system with the latest updated packages of Lucid ?
