First of all, you have to know that I did not find this bug report any
more in the past, so I opened 2 more (sorry) which are more updated than
this one.

Could you please attach a copy of /etc/X11/xorg.conf ? It sounds like
whatever driver you're using isn't working correctly.

Absolutely, the day it's solved I'll move to Edgy.
Once you feel it's OK, don't hesitate to inform me in order I can make
the test for you and for me as well!!
Don't forget that this is a MAJOR issue if you want to penetrate large
companies which have got a lot of laptop, and sata nowadays!
That's right, Edgy is in 2.6.17 The bug applies to both kernels but I
guess it would be better put in the Edgy kernel to fix things there.

This is the story w/ my Toshiba laptop, SATA disk which still does not
work w/ a dapper version beyond 2.6.15.20 (20 is OK now and is the last
one working). The mouse and the keyboard are frozen during the ID
session. I've got a pending bug on this but nobody seem interested.
