I have a similar problem. While xev reports the right keys on my Swiss
German layout (ie: AltGr+$ = right curly bracket), the inputs do not
work in any other applications. In gnome-terminal, the combo for left
curly bracket even causes a weird autocompletion:
:/$ PRESS AltGr+รค
:/$
{b{in,oot},cdr
Seems to work now,
