Hi,
Sorry, I can't remember what came of it. I ended up giving up on Ubuntu this
time around, though I was very impressed, because of some odd problems with
my battery that only works properly on XP. Will definitely try next release
again though.

Hi Markus,
I thought it might be useful to generate that same log with the CD/DVD drive
actually working so I restarted my computer and put in a disk to make sure it
was operational. It is. Here is that same log but when the drive is working.

Sorry for the confusion, I will clean it up now. It is intermittent and fixes
itself if I restart my computer. But it is a consistent problem and at this
