PACKAGE UPDATES MAY SOLVE THIS PROBLEM (2009.05.06)
I haven't tested again with a clean installation, but now I've updated
repositories and applied suggested updates. Then I've uninstalled K3B
(my previous solution) and installed Brasero again; and now all works
fine (Nautilus and CD recording).
This command (chmod a-r) only saves Nautilus when a blank CD/DVD is
inserted, but cannot record CD or DVD.
The recording feature may work uninstalling (purge) Brasero and
installing GnomeBaker or K3B.
