You can adjust the font size of the Details pull-down in the Synaptic Package Manager. In there, go to Settings => Preferences => Columns and Fonts => Use custom terminal font. I will not close the bug, because 1. The default font should be small enough to make the window fit, and 2. You should

This is also affecting me in Karmic. The specific issue is that the 'Details' pull-down opens out at a fixed vertical size. If it just pulled down to the bottom of the visible screen, then it would cope with varying screen sizes, and could be scrolled through on smaller screens. A more intelligent

I cannot reproduce this bug. At all stages of the update process (downloading the packages and installing them) the update screen perfectly fits the screen. Looking at your screenshot I wonder if you are using the custom Dell- mini version of Ubuntu (that comes preinstalled) or you installed a gen
