If you go to the dvd slideshow main page at http://dvd-
slideshow.sourceforge.net/wiki/Main_Page, it says the following:
"Note: There is a known issue with newer versions of ffmpeg requiring a
different audio bitrate syntax which makes audio encoding fail. This is
fixed in the Subversion Repositor
I am using gutsy 7.10 on amd64 ( freash install). dvd-slideshow does not work
properly here is the output.

Does this still occur in Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft?
Can this be confirmed, otherwise I think this bug can be closed.

Not sure if this is what prior bug is about, but I've run into the
problem with dvd-slideshow's dvd-menu program looking for 'rpm' (around
line 353) which is now present in ubuntu because required for lsb
compliance (assume). But when 'rpm' is found dvd-menu then goes
prowling around the rpm repos
