Not sure if this is what prior bug is about, but I've run into the problem with dvd-slideshow's dvd-menu program looking for 'rpm' (around line 353) which is now present in ubuntu because required for lsb compliance (assume). But when 'rpm' is found dvd-menu then goes prowling around the rpm repository to see if all dependencies are available ... BUT LO AND BEHOLD ... there are no rpm repository files present (of course). And lots of error messages printed. Also error interacting with mpeg2enc but I'm not certain whether or not that's fallout from other bug.
