This bug seems to be fixed by the xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.1-1ubuntu2
update.
After upgrading my system today I can't reproduce this bug. The only problem is
fullscreen mode with Professor Fizzwizzle (and this seems to be a KWin desktop
effect problem).

There is a similar bug, bug 292549, but in that case turning off
FramebufferCompression would remove the symptoms, so I'm guessing it's
not exactly the same.

Removing Option "AccelMethod" "UXA" -> EXA is used: same problem + KDE is
extreme slow
Using Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" -> breaks X in the worst way I ever saw
(flickering, unreadable screen + can't switch to a text console)
