This is back in Kubuntu 11.04. First I though it was the ati drivers but
now when I connect my external drive. Nepomuservices and kded4 both go
to 50% cpu cycles making impossible to work with my system anymore. Even
when save removing my external drive. It jus keeps eating cycles.

I have a Gnome installation, but use kmail. This has resulted in nepomuk
and its associated software being installed, and it is especially haard
to get rid of. I have de-installed it with Synaptic, but it is still
running, and can't be killed. I will try a reboot next.

Strigi wasn't working too well before Kubuntu 10.04. (Or KDE 4.4 on Kubuntu
9.10)
It's most likely fixed now, though.

I've had the same problem since nepomuk was first introduced in the
experimental PPA packages (gutsy? hardy? I don't know.) It's NEVER
worked. I was hoping with Jaunty - but no. KDE 4.2.3... but no. The
"nepomuksearch" protocol in Dolphin returns empty folders, and
nepomukservices takes up 100% of
I have the same problem, running Kubuntu 8.10 upgraded to KDE 4.2 with
the packages from the intrepid-backports repository (upgraded
yesterday). My system is AMD 64x2 processor based and I run the 64 bit
version of the OS.
I have kept nepomukservices running for about 200 minutes now and CPU
activ
I have the same problem, on Intrepid with the final KDE 4.2 packages.
I have disabled nepomuk in System Settings, under the advanced tab and
then desktop search. This seems to "solve" the problem.

Hmmm goes nuts in KDE 4.2 rc1 in Intrepid too - I have been killing it
as I only want a working Strigi but I can't get that to work either booo
- I was told it worked in trunk so it may just be a faulty package.
