Since this report have a long time without activity, could you check (if
is possible) in latest version included in Karmic if this issue is still

Forgot to mention.the source of the driver was from the nvidia
website itself. The version of compiz I use is the default one provided
upon installation of ubuntu.

Compiz did not produce the error that I have above before installing the
new driver however the older driver had various problems of its own
which prompted me to try the new one. So far the shifted screen is the
only problem that compiz has under the new driver. But after performing
the (Ctrl-Alt-.

Thank your for taking the time to make Ubuntu better. Several questions
follow that might make your bug report a bit easier to pinpoint the
problem and whether it be compiz, nvida, etc.
Did compiz work as you expected before installing the nvida driver?
What source did you use to install the nvi
