Tom, this is probably configuration issue.
CUPS can be server, contacting other CUPS server (default in Ubuntu) or
it could be clilent contacting CUPS server (this requiers manual setup).
Please attach /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and /etc/cups/cups.d/* files here, so
we could see where the problems is.

Newbie to bugtracker and QA so this writeup should be qualified as it is
possible that failure of cups in dapper is operator error. This being
said as of 9/10/06 cups failed client to server two way communication.
Extensive research has shown that this problem is not isolated to this
