I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64bits in a 500GB Seagate Barracuda ES.2 with a
16MB cache and hdparm it's reporting BuffSize=0kB
Here are some of the outputs of hdparm:
hdparm -i /dev/sda

Same, running Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64, sdg is a Seagate 7200.11 1.5TB and
shows a BuffSize of 0Kb, however sda is a WD RE3 1TB and shows a
BuffSize of 32767kB.

I've got the same problem in Intrepid Ibex 8.10 (amd64)
The cache of the disk is 32MB but it's detected as 0KB
$ sudo hdparm -i /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
