These were all created with a fresh install of intrepid final. The
problem still persists, but I was able to lock it down to xrender (at
least as soon as I enable this option, graphicla login fails)

Here is lspci -vvnn output and my current xorg.conf though I don't
understand why you actually need it. As long a option is NOT used in
AMDPCSDB (so I attached this aswell)

reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirm

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to
your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
