I haven't had it lock up in the last week or two (have been keeping up
with updates). I haven't been running it more than a few hours at a time
though because I've been using the laptop for work daily and booting

The problem in my case seems to have been the acx driver. Fortunately I
wasn't using it, so could just blacklist it. The hardware is:
