My problem appears to be related to pulseaudio...
The installation is a dist-upgrade from Dapper, there may be something
missing in my configuration that a clean Hardy install has set up.
The workaround for my problem was to go to:
System -> Preferences -> Sound
and change all the playback sink
the new comment is likely an issue due to flash in the webbrowser

Sorry, before I close all the firefox web browser i had opened, the
rithmbox start to work. So I open again some of the same www-pages but
i can't reproduce the problem.

I have the same problem.
