informations since those contacts have no email informations in pidgin,
what else would you expect? to special case msn and add the msn
informations as an email?

I've just tested this in with a clean installation running in a VM.
The steps to recreate the problem are as follows, setup pidgin since
this appears to be what evolution is using to "automatically" install
the contacts .
Then in evolution Edit -> Preferences -> "Mail Preferences" ->
"Automatic

After a bit of digging around I think I've found the cause of evolution
failing to display the contacts in the list, it appears that when the
plug-in "auto synchronizes" it fails to populate the "email" field. As
shown when the contact is saved as a .vcf.
