My GAL entry was never populated.
Also would like to note, i turned off auto-lookup in GAL. Things seemed to be
working then i selected "open another users inbox" and bam, same problem.
Then i re-started and

duplicate as turning off auto completion is a work around. Thank you for
correcting me, I'll mark this as a duplicate.

Yes, deactivating GAL server autocompletion solves the problem. I tried it 5
times, reproducing both good and bad
behaviour. Seems that option "Autocompletion -> Global Address list"

mail for an OWA (exchange) account. To reproduce: Setup an OWA Exchange
accout in Evolution, click "New" and start typing a mail. After some
seconds Evolution freezes.
I made an strace for further investigation (see attached file
thank you for your bug report, is the issue specific to exchange use?
seems similar to bug #236171. does desactivating the auto-completion for
contacts workaround the issue?

Evolution freezes
Experiencing the same problem here. Debug log shows nada - no errors
show in terminal after crash. For me, Evolution also crashes a few
seconds after viewing the calendar. This is absolutely critical IMO;
Evolution is now completely unusable for me.
Same OS (Hardy), packages in use as Brbo abov
Same as above:
Evolution completely freezes when editing new mail message. Sometimes it even
comes back to life after some seconds, then stays up a few seconds so I am able
to type, and then again freezes completely. Using only one Exchange account.
I'd say critical.
Even debug log says nothing
