I can confirm this bug, using both Wine 0.9.59 (from official
repositories) and Wine 0.9.61 from winehq.org. StarCraft and WarCraft
III both freeze when connecting to a LAN game. I tried connecting to a
game hosted on a machine with the same configuration (Hardy+Wine) and a
game hosted on a differe

No, this was an x86 installation of Gutsy...
Unfortunately I won't be able to test this issue further, since it was
necessary to upgrade the machine that was experiencing difficulties to
Ubuntu Hardy. Since the Hardy upgrade, I am running Wine 0.9.59 (for
Hardy) without this issue at all.
Perhaps
Are you on 64 bit?
If so, please try installing the lib32nss-mdns package; I believe that
may fix the problem.

http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb if Wine 0.9.59 from ubuntu 8.04
will not work correctly.
