Sounds like a modeline issue.

Actually the screen shrunk and the display kept moving sideways where
I could not see anything that I could click. Had to use the power button
to shut down.

You should _attach_ the log, not paste it. Seems to be something in the
intel driver though, it keeps on reading the monitor DDC information
over and over.
