My temporary workaround for this annoying issue is to install Ubuntu on a new physical disk, then copy the installed Ubuntu to my RAID /dev/md* partition(s) using GParted. Shutdown the computer and physically disconnect the new physical disk. Power on the computer still with Ubuntu live disk, and

Confirming report. I can select any physical device partitions to format and mount, but /dev/md* devices are not listed. The "Next" button is grayed out, the upper left X button cancels the installation, and the only remaining option is "Back" to select a different kind of installation. My physical
