Works for me running a RealTek 8139 Rev 1. I'm running a stock kernel
and no specific configuration to my network modules AFAIK. But I *did*
have some trouble on the first install.

Hello. I have the same problem (Realtel 8139). I can tell that after
clean installation of Hardy Beta (or Alpha 6) orthe NIC works fine. It
stops working after the update (if I recall correctly it is not a
kernell update, so idk why). So, it is recognized (I can see it in lspci
-vv output), you can
