could you be more specific how to install or activate this attansic chip set?
There are post in the ubuntu forum about this but so far the solutions don't
work reliably. Can you help?

Atheros 5007 wifi b/g is wrongly recognized as Atheros.
It is an Attansic chipset and Xandros in EEEpc use the Attansic L2 ethernet
driver and it works.
Why not do it here too ?
Btw Atheros bought last year Attansic so the marketing Let the name to
be AR5007, it has nothing to do with a Real Athe

Well, the Ubuntu folks never got back to me, but I found another solution
that is quite simple. I installed the Mandriva 2008.1 beta edition, and it
turned out to have all the drivers I needed. Don't be scared away by the
