I changed it. Actually lximage-qt also doesn't respect the theme.

I wanted to have a dark theme for Lubuntu.
I installed a custom GTK theme called Ultimate-Plata-Dark-3.36 which is
quite dark.
This only affected apps that used GTK.
As per the instruction

`pcmanfm-qt`, but in the description your refer only to `pcmanfm` which
is a different program/package.
