Well, I got it to work by restarting X, a workaround that looks to be
pretty known. Also, didn't realize syntax for should not be
Ctrl+Shift+V but ++V , had to manually remove the
%gconf.xml to get it back to default to see correct syntax.

Hi,
I had the same issue with Glipper 1.0 and Ubuntu 8.04 . Just upgraded
to 8.10 and problem persists, even after uninstalling and reinstalling
glipper a few times (through apt-get). Going into preferences gives a
text field where you can type the key combination, rather than the auto
key combi
Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
