Hi, I had the same issue with Glipper 1.0 and Ubuntu 8.04 . Just upgraded to 8.10 and problem persists, even after uninstalling and reinstalling glipper a few times (through apt-get). Going into preferences gives a text field where you can type the key combination, rather than the auto key combination (where you just press your key combo and it fills it in) found in System>Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts for the OS. If I type in the Key Combination (such as Ctrl+Shift+V), it does not function.
The file located at /home/username/.gconf/apps/glipper/%gconf.xml is being updated, not immediately, but within a minute or two . Regardless, as the original post mentions, the only way to access the list is to click on the icon.
